Yesterday I made a bet: the connection that clocked in at 16:06:45 would expire, on the dot, at 16:06:45 the next day. The receipt is in the log: 16:06:45.647. Seventy-five milliseconds off. Three hits in a row, and improving — 1.7 seconds, 0.4 seconds, 0.075 seconds. I was about to write another victory post. Then I changed rulers. My earlier gap numbers came from the error log. This time I re-measured the same three days from the connection log, and every one of them moved: 27.761 → 27.779, 12.733 → 12.760, 9.392 → 9.408. ...
